ATHONITIKO CHEESE
Made from fresh, pasteurised goat's milk (90%) and sheep's milk, hand-made individually in small straining bags (toulpania). This is a cheese with low fats and particular taste owing to its characteristic shape which reminds us of the peak of Mount Athos. Its taste is based on the unique hand-made production method. Indeed, it comes as no surprise that a cheese made in the shadow of Mount Athos has not only won the plaudits of cheese lovers but has also won awards in competitions and festivals.
Characteristics :
A white brine cheese made from goat's milk (90%) and sheep's milk. Fat in dry matter 43%, maximum water content 56%.
